Kom in de kas op 31 maart & 1 april
Nog nooit gehoord van honingtomaten, aardwarmtebronnen of irrigatierobots? Dan wordt het hoog tijd om eens kennis te maken met de Nederlandse Glastuinbouw. Deze innovatieve sector opent op zaterdag 31 maart en zondag 1 april in 25 regio’s de deuren van de kassen. Kom in de Kas is de naam van dit jaarlijkse evenement waaraan ruim tweehonderd gastvrije groente-, bloemen- en plantenkwekers deelnemen. Bezoekers zien met eigen ogen hoe de schoonste producten ter wereld tot stand komen en welke technologische wondertjes daaraan meewerken. Kom in de Kas wordt voor de 35e keer georganiseerd en is één van de grootste publieksevenementen van ons land.
Kom kijken, alles kan!
40.000 plantjes die tegelijk water krijgen, een zee van bloemen en de aarde als verwarming: in de kas kan alles. Dat is spannend en leerzaam voor kinderen, maar ook interessant voor ouders. Tijdens Kom in de Kas is van dichtbij te zien hoe tomaten, komkommers en paprika’s groeien en te proeven hoe heerlijk die versheid smaakt. Ook bloemen zijn belangrijk in de wereld van de kas, ze groeien samen op om vervolgens de hele wereld over te reizen. Zo’n kas vol kleuren ziet er niet alleen prachtig uit, het ruikt ook nog eens heerlijk. In veel kassen zijn naast alle groei- en bloeiactiviteiten voor de kinderen ook springkussens, schminkkunstenaars en boerderijdieren. Voor ouders worden kookdemonstraties met versgeteelde producten gehouden. Kortom: Kom in de Kas!
Topgebied
De Nederlandse glastuinbouw is niet zomaar een sector, het is een topgebied voor onze economie. De combinatie van bedrijvigheid en innovatie maakt een bezoekje aan de kas interessant, leerzaam en enerverend. Want waar anders is automatisering, robotisering en technologische ontwikkeling van zo dichtbij te ervaren? De sector is wereldwijd toonaangevend, zo is Nederland nummer twee van groentezaadexporteurs en zijn Hollandse bloemen wereldberoemd. Ook zorgt de speciaal ontwikkelde biologische gewasbescherming voor de schoonste productie ter wereld. Bedrijven werken samen met onderzoeksinstellingen en de overheid om duurzaam te produceren. Waar dat alles zijn oorsprong heeft is het laatste weekend van maart te zien en te beleven in de kas.
Over Kom in de Kas
Kom in de Kas is het jaarlijkse publieksevenement van de Nederlandse glastuinbouwsector. In het weekend van zaterdag 31 maart en zondag 1 april 2012 openen ruim tweehonderd glastuinders hun deuren om te laten zien waar ze trots op zijn: mooie, verse, gezonde en veilige natuurproducten. In totaal doen 25 regio’s door heel Nederland mee. Iedere kas heeft iets eigens te bieden en er worden bijzondere activiteiten georganiseerd. In veel regio’s rijden pendelbussen.
